What is Yoga Therapy?

Yoga Therapy is defined by International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT) as “the process of empowering individuals to progress toward improved health and well-being through the application of the teachings and practices of Yoga.”  Yoga Therapy tools and practices such as meditation, asana, pranayama, mudras, etc. can be utilized to strengthen interoceptive awareness to increase general health and well-being for individuals.   The scope of my practice includes an integrative and therapeutic lens or approach to support physical, mental, and spiritual health as well as preexisting modalities and health care regimens that are currently in place.  My role is also to support and guide you towards your truth, wisdom, and knowledge within. Thai Yoga Bodywork

What is Thai Yoga Bodywork?

Thai Yoga Bodywork has been systematically developed and condensed into a series of rhythmic sequences that use different therapeutic techniques of manual manipulation, stretch, and energetic components to help release tension, stress, and stagnation through loving touch.  Thai Yoga Bodywork is sometimes coined as lazy man's yoga.  It was founded by Dr. Jivaka Kumar Bhacca who lived around 500 BCE.  The roots of Thai Massage begin in India and spread to Thailand along with the Buddhist teachings in the second and third century.  It has influence from both Chinese and Indian traditions.  Dr. Jivaka's medical training stemmed from India's Ayurveda system, the same system that yoga tradition developed from.
